Harry DAVIES

Harry DAVIES, 78, resident of Marshall, died Saturday in Union Hospital at Terre Haute. He had been hospitalized since June 3rd. Born Oct 10, 1882, he was the son of Samuel and Sarah Shipman Davies. He married Maude Phillips, who preceded him in death last December. Mr. Davies attended Rose Poly at Terre Haute and served two terms as Parke Co. Surveyor. For a number of years he was a member of the Indiana Highway Commission. He was a member of Marshall Friends Church and 50-year member of F&AM Lodge No. 648. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Ellis of Greencastle with whom he made his home after the death of his wife; a brother, Clayton Davies of California. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m.Wednesday at the Davies Funeral Home in Marshall, Rev. Buel Horn officiated with burial in Memory Garden Cemetery.
