Mrs. Morris L. Young, who resides at 1205 Danville Ave is serving this year as president of the Modern Home Makers Home Demonstration Club, one of a number of Home Demonstration clubs in Montgomery County.  The Club, which now has 18 members was organized Nov 1946 with 7 charter members.  Mrs. Young is the former Ethel Rusk, of New Market, where she resided as a girl. She attended grade school there and was graduated from the New Market HS with the class of 1935.  She is one of five children born to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George O. Rusk.  She has a brother, Lloyd Rusk, residing in Crawfordsville and three sisters, one of whom, Mrs. Pearl Pittman resides in Adbance and the other two, Mrs. Grover Walkup and Mrs. Dollie Jackson are living in Albuquerque, NM.  Her parents are deceased.

Mr. and Mrs. Young were married in 1942.  Mr. Young is a graduate of CHS with the class of 1935.  He is the agent here for the DX Sunray Oil COmpany and is a director of the Oilmen's Credit Assn.  Mr. Young is also a member of the Lions Club, the Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge in Crawfordsville and he is a Scottish Rite Mason.  Mr. and Mrs. Young save no children.

While Mr. and Mrs. Young are active in the Trinity Methodist Church in Crawfordsville of which Mr Young is a member. Mrs. Young is still a member of the New Market Baptist CHurch which she joined while a New Market HS pupil.  Mrs. Young has also been active in the United Community Fund in Crawfordsville and she is now serving as a nember of  Scottish Rite ...  ... near the Lew Wallace study.  Mrs. Young is also serving this year as chairman of the Sugar Creek neighborhood of Montgomery County which includes 7 Girl Scout Troops of the Jr-Sr High Schools in Crawfordsville, Tuttle School and Hoover School here and also those of Ladoga, Waveland and New Market.  

Mr. Young is also a past preident of Pi Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and during the year she served the club as president she was decidely honored by being voted the "Girl of the Year."  This honor was conferred upon her as a result of the outstanding achievements of her chapter during her presidency, and her devotion to the chapter and the soroity's ideals.

In addition to their4-H club activities, members of the Modern Home Makers Home Demonstration Club have participated in many community service projets and have aided the aged residents of the city and county in many ways.  Meetings of the club are held on the third Wed of the 12 months of the year and the social highlight of the year is the meeting at which the husbands of the members are entertained as their guests.  In their meeting in October of this year the club will host ...
