Vancleave, of this place (Darlington) will give an old fiddlers contest on
March 23 at the gymnasium Mr. Vancleave is called the one man band as he
operates 15 different instruments at one time. 40 business men have offered
prizes to be given to the contestants also $15 in money to be given to the
winners. This will be something worth seeing and should be largely attended. --

VanCleave, Imitator, natural ventriloquist and inventor of the famous one man
band will give an old fiddlers Contest and Vaudeville show at the gymnasium
Saturday night Feb 16. This performance is also a Red Cross benefit as 30 % of
the proceeds will go to that society. Good prizes are being offered to the
fiddlers and a goodly number is expected to take part in the contest. Since his
last appearance here, Mr. VanCleave has made many changes in his machine and
added some very unique features which brings out the war time spirit. The doors
open at 7:20 and the admission is 10 cents 15 cents and 25 cents. This is an
opportunity to help a good cause and at the same time get your money's worth of
entertainment. --
