Miss Angie Gray of Putnam County, near Greencastle, Ind had from birth a "cleft palate" which prevented articulation and she was quite as much debarred from general social advantages as the deaf mute. Since a recent surgical operation upon her palate by Dr. Totten, the well-known dental surgeon of Crawfordsville, she talks well and is desirous in this public way of expressing her gratitude to him and of informing others similarly afflicted where their burthens may be lifted off. - transcribed by kbz
