The Rev. Carlyle Scott, a full-time evangelist from Crawfordsville will be the guest minister at a revival beginning Sunday at the Fellowship Baptist Church.  He will talk at the 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. worship services and at 7:30 o'clock nightly.  This is Rev. Scott's fourth time to conduct a revival at the church, 2162 Ohio Avenue.  Minister is the Rev. Charles DeHaven. Al Thompson will conduct the special singing. The church nursery will be open.

Revival services in the Calvary Baptist Church will begin Sunday and continue at 7:30 p.m. every night except Saturdays until Oct 24.  The Rev. Carlyle Scott of Crawfordsville, Ind, an evangelist will conduct the services, Rev. JW Hooper, pastor of the local church announced.

A two weeks' evangelistic campaign with Rev. Carlyle Scott of Crawfordsville as the speaker and Rev. Don LaShure of Jackson, Mich as the song leader will begin Sunday at the First Baptist Church, Rev. Roy C. Carlson, pastor announces.  Rev. Scott is a well known evangelist and has been particularly successful in his work with young people.  Rev. LaShure is an associate pastor, choir leader, violinist and young people's worker at Jackson. Services will start at 7 o'clock each evening.  The public is invited.


Note: Rev. Scott lived in Crawfordsville and went around preaching not only in our area (he was said to be humorous but really got the young especially thinking about their lives and relationship with God.   On April 23, 1939, he married Gertrude Cummings and I believe they had but one child, Susan.  Carlyle was born 1 March 1910 and began his Evangelical preaching a bit before marrying. He and Gertrude are buried in Freedom Cemetery at Waveland, Indiana.  There are 3-4 pictures on their FIndaGrave entry. He passed 25 Aug 1983 at age 73 years old - he was lovingly referred to as "SCOTTY"

Crawfordsville - Lifelong evangelist Dr. Carlyle T. Scott "Scotty" 73 died at 5:57 a.m. Thursday in St. Vincent's Hospital, Indianapolis.  He had been ill one month.  He was born in Montgomery County and lived in Crawfordsville.  Surviving are his widow, Gertrude; a daughter, Mrs. Bruce (Susan) Kryder of Nashville, Tenn and three sisters: Vida Laurimore, Ruth Smith and Fannie Hartford.
