Sweet - Richard

Richard Sweet, the convict who seized Mrs. Ruth JOINER in
Michigan City penitentiary, threatening her life unless he and
some other convicts were released, has been convicted on a
kidnapping charge and sentenced to death in the electric chair.
At the time he was serving a sentence for kidnapping Dr. Rufus
Dooley of Montezuma.
