Dr. W.L. Straughan had a disquieting experience last Saturday night.
As he was nearing the Pine Grove crossing on a trip to Browns Valley, a
man sprang into the middle of the road and signaled for him to stop. Not
liking his actions, Dr. Straughan did not slacken his speed and after
passing this man, saw another man on the railroad grade with a revolver
in his hand. They made no further demonstration.

Straughan - Ben Hur
Dr. W.L. Straughan has accepted a position with the Supreme
Tribe of Ben Hur as assistant medical examiner. He will assume
his duties June 1, but will not move to Crawfordsville until this
fall. He succeeds Dr. Alexander Fitch who died some months ago.
Dr. Straughan has been very successful in the practice of his
profession, and has built up a large practice, and his going will
cause much regret.
