A.T. STEELE, physician and surgeon, Waveland, was born in Owen County, Indiana in 1834. At the age of 18 he attended school at Greencastle IN where he received a thorough education, after which he came to Waveland, Montgomery Co, IN and began the study of medicine under Dr. McNutt, and graduated in 1857 at the Univ. at Louisille, Ky and soon after entered into a lucrative practice at Waveland, where he has practiced ever since. By his skillful treatment he has gained a widespread reputation as a physician and surgeon. His father was among the early settlers of Vincennes Indiana where he came to from Ky in 1800. He was a soldier in the War of 1812, having formerly served as Lt. in the Indian War. The Dr. is a member of the state medical society and the Tristate Med. Soc and is Pres. of the Montgomery Medical Assoc. In 1858 he married Miss Sarah M. BRUSH daughter of Blakely Brush, who was one of the early settlers of the County. - kbz
