E.L. SNODGRASS, planing miller, Ladoga. In writing up the
industries of Ladoga we take great pleasure in mentioning the
firm of Snodgrass & HUNTINGTON, proprietors of the Ladoga
stave & planing mills, which was organized in 1876. E.L.
Snodgrass is a native of Botetourt Co, Va and was born in 1845. He
is the son of Robert & Nancy Snodgrass. Mr. S. served two
years in the confederate army, serving in the 2d Virginia Regiment and was
in over 50 battles. He was severely wounded at the Battle of
Milford in 1864. In 1868 he came to Boone County, Indiana where he worked
at the carpenter's trade, and in 1876 came to this County. He is
a member of the Masons & Knights of Pythias and of the
Presbyterian Church. In 1868 he married Miss Virginia MOUNT, a
native of this County and daughter of Alfred G. and Margaret Mount.
His family are: Theodric; August O. and Maud G.
