John H. SMITH born Jan 20, 1851 in Howard Co IN came to Ripley
Twp with his parents. John lived in Ripley Twp for 80 years. He
was a teamster. The son of Joseph & Mary L. Rush, John's
grandparents were: Daniel Smith & Christina Stonebraker.
John's siblings were: harriet marr John SWITZER; Mary Catherine
marr. Thomas M. GALEY; Rachel married George GRAHAM; Emma married
Smauel Gilkey; Lista married Joel Lee Patton #2 Benjamin GALEY;
Nona J. married Noah MYERS; James S. married Mary Susan Alfrey
and Alice married Albert MICHAEL. John H. Smith married Cinderella
BALSER oct 19, 1878. She was born Feb 12, 1851 and lived most of
her life in Alamo. Her parents were George Balser and Mary Hamm.

Grover. Carl married Ola Westfall and had four children: Charles

Katie married Joel Tucker and had 3 children: Max, Imogene and Letha.
Elsie died young. John & Cinderella were both members of
Alamo Christian Church. John d. July 25, 1934 and Cinderella d.
Sept 7, 1944. Both are buried Alamo Cemetery.
