Having organized Indiana's first 4-H pig, lamb and colt clubs, Frederick M. Shanklin organized in 1930 the first spring market lamb show ever held in the United States. Mr. Shanklin forsaw the need for such a show and the good which would come of it.
In its 25 years, the Hoosier Junior Market Lamb Show, Fred Shanklin's show, has helped teach lessons of quality production and marketing of lambs and when this year's show is completed over 7,000 lambs will have been driven through the show ring.
