Kokomo, Ind., Jan. 16, --Samuel Peffley (sic), 87, Kokomo,  struck by a truck driven by Albert Schwenger, Kokomo baker, early  Monday morning, died this afternoon at Good Samaritan hospital.  Peffley (sic) has resided here for eight years, operating a shop  for sharpening knives, scissors, and doing other odd jobs.  Peffley (sic) was pushing a cart in the downtown section when  struck. Schwenger told police the headlights on his truck were  ineffective because of a light rain on the pavement and that  smaller street lights recently installed as an economy measure by  the city also prevented his seeing Peffley (sic) until too  late.  Samuel Peffley (sic) is a former Ladoga resident and  well known in that vicinity.
