Writing to Paul McMAINS, acknowledging the receipt of $30.30 for the library at Ft. Harrison, Secretary Sanborn of the State Library Commission says: "I was greatly surprised and as greatly pleased to receive your letter and your check for $30.30. No other town your size has contributed as much for the soldiers at Ft. Harrison and I think you are to be congratulated in every way for the work which you did. I am sure that we appreciate very greatly the hard work that you put into your program as well as the actual money which you sent. I feel that the young people of Waveland have reason to be proud of themselves and I shall try to find room to say so in our Library Occurent when I publish the gifts from the various towns.
