John N. McCAMPBELL, farmer, Waveland was born in Parke County, May
5, 1849, and is the son of John H. and Sarah A. (GRISMORE)
Campbell, early settlers of Parke County. John N. was a native of
Ky, and immigrated to Parke CO. and settled in Washington Twp in
1846. Sarah A. McCampbell was a native of Clark County, Indiana. John
N. was married in 1872 to Victoria McCORD, daughter of RS &
Caroline (ALLEN) McCord, both natives of Ky. She was born in Parke
County in 1852. He has by this married two children: Clara, b. May2
0, 1874, and Walter A. born Aug 14, 1878.
Mr. & Mrs.
McCampbell are members of the United Presbyterian Church at
Bethany. His parents are old members of this Church. He began
life for himself in very moderate circumstances. By good
management and industry he has accumulated property quite
rapidly. In politics he votes the straight Republican ticket. He
and his wife were educated in the common schools of Parke Co. He
was elected last spring to the office of Justice of the Peace of
Howard Twp.
