Milton MORIN died this morning at 2:30 at his home north of
Kirkpatrick just over the Tippecanoe Co. Line. Although he had
been in failing health for a short time death was quite sudden as
he had been in town only yesterday. Heart failure was the cause.
He was born June 17, 1835 on the farm now occupied by John KING on
the line between Madison & Sugar Creek Townships. He was twice married, first to Miss RACHEL RICE and again to Mrs. Mary MAHOY.
Both
wives are dead, but five children by the first Mrs. Morin
survive, Fielding MORIN; William MORIN; Mrs. Charles DAVIS; Mrs.
Porter PEAK and Mrs. William HORBIN (?) all of whom live on or
near his magnificent farm of 1500 acres of the finest land in
Tippecanoe County. He also has 10 grandchildren.
Mr. Morin was a public
spirited citizen and was especially noted for the fine stock he
raised. He was a Republican in politics. The funeral will occur
Thursday morning at 10 o'clock conducted at the residence by Rev.
JM Brown of Lebanon, and Rev. Mr. McKinsey. Interment at IOOF [Independent Order of Odd Fellows]
Cemetery at Darlington.
