George W. MIKELS of Judson has been commissioned 1st Lt. and  Frank McCABE of Portland Mills as 2nd Lt. Both attended the  training camp.

George W. MIKELS, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Lafe Mikels  Judson passed away at his residence in Wabasha, MN Tuesday a.m.  July 31. He had had a serious heart condition for several years  and was to enter the Mayo Clinic at Rochester Aug 1. He was a  graduate of Waveland HS, entered Wabash College but before  graduation enlisted in WWI. Since then he has been associated  with the Northern States Power co. at Wabasha. He leaves the  widow, Margaret Kenyon Mikels; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Mustain,  Mason City, Iowa; 3 grandchildren. His parents and two brothers,  Ed of Latty Ohio and Charley of Judson preceded him in death a  few years ago. The funeral will be held at Episcopalian Church,  Wabasha Thursday at 2. Burial at Wabasha. Mrs. Ola Phillips was  his only sister.
