Source: Crawfordsville Journal Review 31 May 1972

An  outgoing personality and unlimited talent have contributed to  the success of John Marshall, formerly of the Crawfordsville area, according to his friends and close associates. Marshall is now located at Glendale, Calif where he appears in commercial television films, children's shows and dramas. He also writes  songs and poems which he plans to perform in concert. Many of his writings are excerpts from his Hoosier background. While attending Crawfordsville HS, Marshall's talent was evident in those who observed his dramatic and witty performance. He was encouraged by many community citizens to consider dramatics  as a career. "I was elated about Marshall's outstanding ability to entertain and hold the attention of his audience. His talent  appeared so natural that I encouraged him to attend Northwestern University to continue developing his ability." W. Addington Vance, publisher of The Journal-Review said. Marshall attended Arlington HS and was graduated from CHS in 1950. He then attended Northwestern University. He served two years in the Marine Corps  before becoming a professional television personality. He held  a permanent Lt. Commision in the US Marine Corps. Marshall was a TV performer on the Lafayette WFLI-TV station before moving to Palm Beach, FL. He appeared on WPTV and WATV for approximately  four years in Florida. He then worked with a Chicago Television station for a short time. After moving to California, Marshall was a producer of children's shows for several years before becoming associated with commercial television. He is a lecturer           and guest speaker and an active member of the church in Glendale. Marshall is married and the father of four children. His mother is Mrs. Charles A.
