Lane -- Robert Hackley

Robert Hackley Lane, farmer, Ladoga, was b. in Montgomery Co, Ky. in 1818 and is the son of Robert G. and Elizabeth (HACKLEY) Lane. The father was a native of Va and the mother of Ky, and they came to Putnam County., Indiana, in the fall of 1842, and to Montgomery Co in 1843, where they both lived till their death. Mr. Lane, the subject of this notice, was raised on a farm and has been a resident of this County since 1843, and by the hard work and close attention to agricultural pursuits he has become the owner of a fine farm containing 180 acres. In 1849 he married Miss Sarah ASHBY, daughter of Silas & Nancy (RADFORD) Ashby, who came from Ky. to Putnam County, in 1829. Mrs. Lane was b. in Shelby Co Ky in 1826. Their family are: Robert S; Bladen O; Mary E; Dora B; Emma C; Rosa H and Minnie; three deceased: James H; Anne E and Nancy C. Mr. & Mrs.Lane are members of the Reformed church, and Mr. lane is a member of the Masonic Fraternity, No. 187 which meets at Ladoga. -- typed by kbz
