When Uncle Joe Kleiser came to town, Tuesday he was mad clear through. And no wonder; for a lot of worthless dogs had made a raid on his sheep and ruined several of them. He has vowed that he will shoot every dog that he sees on his farm. - kbz

Joseph S. Kleiser was born on August 27, 1821 in Bourbon County, Kentuc ky and died June 17, 1905 age 83 years 9 months and 20 days. He was the s econd son of Goerge and Elizabeth (McLoed) Kleiser. The father died wh en the deceased was but two years of age and the widowed mother with her t hree sons removed from Kentucky to Indiana in the year 1834, locating on t he farm east of Waveland now owned by Henry Fullenwider. At that time t he country in this vicinity was but sparsely settled, being practical ly a wilderness, the town of Waveland then containing one or two house s. Some years later the family removed fromt he farm to Waevland, where t he 3 brothers worked for a time at the carpenter trae, building some of t he oldest houses now standing in town.
