Rawlins, Wyo., April 14-DR. W. L. JOHNSON, 86 years of age and one of the real old-timers in this part of the country, was found dead in his bed at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. R. Couzens, Monday morning of this week.

Dr. Johnson was born in Crawfordsville on June 21, 1842 and he remained in that city until 1881, when he went west, locating in Denver. Three years later he moved to North Park, Colo., and in the following year he located on a homestead south of Encampment.

In 1889 Dr. Johnson purchased the Rawlins Consolidated Drug Co., in this city. He operated the drug store until 1902 when he purchased another drug store in Salt Lake City and moved to that place to live. The store was sold in 1904 and the doctor moved to Santa Cruz, Calif. In 1922 he returned to Wyoming to make his home with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. And Mrs. A. R. Couzens. He remained with them from that time until his death.

Dr. Johnson married Miss Fannie Hall of Logansport, Ind. in 1868. Mrs. Johnson died in California in 1921. He is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Mellie Dodds of Santa Cruz, Calif., Mrs. Couzens and Mrs. George Bible, both residents of Rawlins, and an older brother, Mahlon V. Johnson of Denver. Funeral services were held this morning at 10 o'clock, the Rev. F. F. Kraft officiating. Burial was made in the Rawlins Cemetery. Dr. Johnson was a brother of Mrs. Susan D. Blair, Mrs. R. F. Beck and Mrs. Judge Britton, all of who lived in Crawfordsville.

Walter Johnson was born in 1842 and died in 1928. He graduated from Rusk Medical College with honors and began practicing in Crawfordsville. He stayed but a few years, then moved to Santa Cruz, California where he practiced and eventually died. He was one of the founders (and a charter member) of the Montgomery County Medical Society.

From Montgomery County pioneer stock, Chilson and Ann, Walter Lloyd Johnson was born June 12, 1842 (note 21st above not sure which is correct).  Although he attended Wabash for awhile, he graduated with high honors from Rush Medical College, after which he practiced in Crawfordsville a few years.  He was one of the founding fathers of the Montgomery County Medical Society.  In Logansport, Dr. Johnson married Fannie Hall, this evening occurring in 1868.  He "kept an apothocary shop at his office on Green Street in Crawfordsville."  The Johnson's had at least two daughters (Mellie and Abbie) and a son, Willard.

He and his family remained in Crawfordsville until 1881 when they moved to Denver Colorado. They remained there but a short time.  From there, he moved to Wyoming, next to Salt Lake City, where he also ran a drug firm with help from Fannie.   Finally, furthering his trek West to Santa Cruz, California, his death occurred in April 1928.  He is buried in the Rawlins, Wyoming cemetery.
