Mrs. Richard Johnson has received word that her husband, Cpl. Richard T. Johnson has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Heroic Action shown when crossing the Saar River with heavy assault wave and while under heavy artillery fire recovered communication wires dropped to them by air plane and established communications with his battalion. He also has four stars on his ETO Ribbon. -- kbz
