Accidental shooting Dr. H.H. Isaacs suffered a painful wound on Tuesday afternoon. He was loading a 25-calibre pistol. The cartridge stuck and in forcing it into the chamber the gun was discharged, the ball taking effect in his left groin. Mrs. Isaacs and the office girl, Miss Margaret Moody, were in the room at the time. At first the doctor refused to believe that he was wounded. Dr. Straughan was called from his office across the hall and under his direction the wounded man was taken to Crawfordsville. Mrs. Isaacs accompanied him with Chas. D. Barr driving. Dr. Warren, a brother-in- law of Dr. Isaacs, of Marshall, was notified by phone and reached Crawfordsville but a few minutes after them. The x-ray examination showed that the ball had passed around the peritoneal cavity and lodged in the back of the hip. Dr. Warren took Dr. Isaacs to Terre Haute to have the ball removed and to have serum administered to ward off danger of infection. The ball was removed on Wednesday. A small piece was chipped off of the hipbone. It is thought that he will be home in a few days. Mrs. Isaacs is with him.
