The following from the Herald and Presbyter refers to the Rev. Robert Irwin who was pastor of the Presbyterian Church about 1869. He was a brother of the late Mrs. Fannie Milligan. "The late Rev. Robert Irwin, D.D., is remembered in Irwin Hall, the latest dormitory to be built at Lindenwood College, St. Charles, Mo.. It was dedicated Oct. 24, and has accommodations for 80 girls, who are now lodged therein. It is in modified Tudor Gothic style, and cost $250,000. Dr. Irwin was president of Lindenwood 13 years, from 1880 to 1893, and did much for the college. He was, prior to that, in charge of the Presbyterian depository in St. Louis and former pastor of the First Church in Kansas City. His son, Rev. W. Frances Irwin, D.D., of Irvington-on-the-Hudson, N.Y., gave the dedicatory address, and two son-in-laws, Rev. W.F. Jones and Rev. E.W. McCluskey, offered prayers. Dr. MacIvor presided as president of the Board of Directors, presenting the key to the building, which was accepted by the college president, Dr. John Lincoln Roemer. Much of the ceremony was out of doors, and it brought together a large concourse of people."  - kbz
