Chester E. Heslar, 68, who formerly operated hatcheries and a gasoline service station in Waveland died at 7;50 a.m. Thursday Nov 14, 1963 at his home here following a serious illness about six weeks. He was born May 5, 1895 in Waveland, son of Wm. And Maggie Wilshire Heslar; married Mary Hazlett at Rockville Jan 18, 1924. Mr. Heslar was a member of Waveland Presbyterian Church; Waveland F& AM Lodge 300; Waveland American Legion & Scottish Rite at Indianapolis. He was a veteran of WWI, having served with the 14th Baloon Company in France. Survivors include the widow; 3 sisters, Mrs. Josephine Davis; Mrs. Bernice Harvey and Mrs. Dorothy Holmes; two uncles, Mirt Wilshire; Albert Wilshire an aunt, Mrs. Anna Heslar of Waveland and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a son. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m .Saturday, Machledt & Servies with the Rev. Paul Bingham officiating; burial in Portland Mills Cemetery. - kbz
