Note from kbz: John Frank Gillespie was not here but a few years. Much of his time spent as a Veterinarian was in Tuscola, in Douglas County, Illinois. He is buried there. Born 7 June 1875 in Illinois, he was a Spanish American War Vet, serving ias a Sgt. in the 1st Regiment of Company A, the Illinois Light Artillery.
When he registered for the WWI draft, he was described as medium height, medium weight, blue eys and brown hair. He died 15 Sept 1959 and is buried in Tuscola Township Cemetery in Tuscola. He did marry a Waveland gal, Jessie Mae Smith (born 3-22-1875 in Waveland died in Tuscola 12-19-1934). She was the daughter of William Smith and Sallie Vandevter who was raised here.
They lived on West Daggy Street and had at least two daughters, Thelma and Mary Alice.
