W.B. GILL lumber dealer, Ladoga, was b. in Montgomery Co, In July 13, 1845, and is the so Jonathan and Scyth (INGRAHAM) Gill, who are natives of Bath Co, Ky. The father was born May 30, 1810 and marr. Sept 17, 1837, and the mother was b. Dec. 16, 1817. They removed to Mont Co in 1837 and improved a large farm, where they lived for many years. Through hard work the father's health failed, since which time they have resided in Ladoga. W.B. GIll, the subj of this sketch, was raised on his father's farm, in the meantime securing a good business education. Since 1878 he has been engaged in the lumber business. in 1870 he marr. Mrs. Amanda J. KNOX, former Amanda J. ANDERSON, and daughter of CHR Anderson, who is one of the old and respected citizens of Mont. Co. Mr. & Mrs. Gill are members of the Christian Church, and are highly respected citizens of the County - typed by kbz

WB Gill,
who celebrated his 98th birthday anniversary on Tuesday July 13, at his home in
Ladoga is one of the oldest citizens in Montgomery County. Mr. Gill was born July 13, 1845 at the old
Gill homestead south of Ladoga. He is a member of the Church of Christ, which
he has served as elder for many years. Mr. Gill enjoys comparatively good
health with the exception of impaired hearing and eye sight and walks to the
stores nearly every day to do the family shopping. Until two years ago he was the oldest man in
Montgomery County to drive a car and secure a driver's license. Each day he
drove his car to the farm south of town where he assisted with the farm work.
Mr. Gill was remember on his birthday anniversary by many cards, flowers and
