DAVID MARSHALL FRUITS
David Marshall Fruits was born in Montgomery County, Indiana on the 17th of October in 1836. Most of his family, including his father Sebastian John Merriott Fruits (2 January 1815 Butler Co Ohio - 23 Feb 1891 Page Co Iowa) and mother Matilda Wray (14 May 1814 Butler County, Ohio died 8 Nov 1889) who were married in Montgomery County 24 November 1835 (Bk 1 p 165) and most of his 8 brothers & sisters went on west. Some were born in Page County, Iowa.
David Marshall married Mary A. Miranda Frier (1837-1919) and they had at least six children, four males (Daivd; Wm; George and John) and two daughters, Marietta and Maggie. He died the 6th of July in 1905 and Mary Ann are buried in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Cowley County, Kansas.
A Sgt in Co. A, 8th Regiment of the Iowa Calvary, under Capt. George Burns was mustered in on July 14, 1863. --- kbz - 6-13-2013
