Farris - Jonathan

Dr. Jonathan Speed Farris was born about 1828 in Laurel County, Kentucky. He was admitted to the Indiana State Medical Society in 1880 and lived in Bargersville, Johnson County. He was in Morgan County in 1860 so I'm not sure if there were Montgomery County ties at all for this man, and if so, were probably brief ones.
His parents were George Farris and Martha "Patsy" McNeil Farris. He married in 1856 in Laurel County Amanda Moren (1839-1892). They had four children, Robert; Cordelia; Mary and Egar.
He had at least four brothers and one sister, the boys all having last names for middle names (James McNeil; Presley Adams ...). On the 18th day of February in 1878 he was appointed postmaster of Bargersville, Indiana (Johnson Co) and served until 1885.
He passed away 27 May 1891 in Johnson County, Indiana. He has a very simple gravestone in Hopewell Cemetery. Since the Speed name is one of distinction in Montgomery County, perhaps that is the connection here.
