Ensminger - John

Dr. JOHN ENSMINGER

John was born in Montgomery County the son of Horace and Nancy Nicholson Ensminger.  He studied medicine at the Cincinnati Medical College, then worked with his uncle Samuel Ensminger.   For a few years, he practiced in Waynetown then went west for his health.  Married with one child, he passed away at his home in Norman, Oklahoma on November 7th, 1898 of lung problems.  He was just 35 years of age and had practiced at Norman for a few years before his death.  Findagrave.com does not show he had a tombstone, although a short obituary in the C'ville Sunday Star a week after his death said he was buried there.  "Many friends here will mourn his death," the obituary said.  -- written by Karen Bazzani Zach
