A young man who has stamped the impress of his strong personality upon the minds of the people of Montgomery County in a manner as to render him one of the conspicuous characters of the northwestern part of the county is Dr. Charles C. DONELSON the able and popular veterinary surgeon of Wingate. Faithfulness to duty and a strict adherence to a fixed purpose, which always do more to advance a man's interest than wealth or advantageous circumstances, have been dominating factors in his life which has been replete with honor and success worthily attained, and he is fast becoming an important factor in the affairs of his county and stands in the foremost rank of his profession. Dr. Donelson was born April16, 1885 in Cain Township, Fountain County, Indiana. He is a son of James M. and Rossita L. COOPER Donelson. The father was born Feb 20, 1844 in Fountain county, this state. He has devoted his life successfully to general farming and he is still active, now living at Waynetown, Montgomery County. The mother of the active, now living at Waynetown, Montgomery County. The mother of the subject was also born in Fountain County, the year of her birth being July 20, 1859. She was the youngest of a family of 16. She is still living. She received a very good education and taught school before her marriage. Three children were born to James M. Donelson and wife: Sherman L is married and lives in Indianapolis; Clifford B., born Dec 5, 1887 is single and lives at home and Dr. charles C. Dr. Donelson received a good common school education, later attending high school for a time, then entered Valparaiso University Valparaiso, Indiana. Finally, deciding up on a career s veterinary surgeon, he took the course at the Indiana Veterinary College, where he made an excellent record and was graduated, Class of 1912. Dr. Donelson has remained unmarried. He began life in a business way by farming with his father. When about 18 he went to Mexico where he remained some time, then took up his residence at Canyon city, Texas working there on a ranch about 3 months, and he shipped cattle for awhile form Canyon City to St. Joseph and Kansas City, Missouri for Lowis & Molesworth and later he went to Indianapolis and took a position as machinist at the Atlas Engine Works, and later he took the course in veterinary surgery after which he located Wingate, Montgomery County, where he has since remained. He has built up a large and rapidly growing practice and his services are in great demand for he has shown himself to be an up to date and successful veterinary physician. Fraternally, he belongs to the Knights of Pythias, Waynetown and Christian Union Church at Wesley; politically, he is a Democrat. -- kbz
