Thompson CONRAD, farmer, Clark's Hill, came to Montgomery Co. from Ross Co, Ohio with his parents in 1839. He was b. in Ky in 1817 and is the son of Joseph & Rachel Conrad; the former is a native of Pa, and emigrated to Ohio in 1821, the latter a native of Virginia; her people were formerly from Germany. In 1846 he was marr. to Elizabeth WYANT, daughter of Abasalom Wyant, who settled in Sugar Creek Twp near Bethel Church in 1831. By this marr. he has 6 ch: Eliza A; Joseph; Rachel; Jessee, Alice (sic only 5 listed). Mr. Conrad and wife are members of United Brethren In Christ, at the Red schoolhouse.. In politics he is a republican. He was schooled principally in the pioneer schools of Campbell Co Ky where his parents settled at a very early date. He has a farm of 120 acres, fairly stocked and in good cultivation. Mr. C. located on this farm in 1857. Alice, the youngest of his children, is the only one remaining at home, the rest, having marr, sought their own fortunes elsewhere. - typed by kbz
