Bowerman, Tom - Montgomery InGenWeb Project

Crawfordsville,  Ind – Tom Bowerman is moving to Waynetown HS next season after 22 years as basketball coach at Alamo. Alamo has been Bowerman’s only coaching job in the 22 years since his graduation from Wabash College.  He has a 217-210 record at the little school which has an enrollment of 432 pupils but for the last 5 years it has been 68—37. Bowerman’s basketball products include his son, Charley star at Wabash College this past season. At Waynetown he will succeed Ed Boos whose contract was not renewed. Waynetown had a 13-29 record for the past two years Boos led the team.

Waynetown, Ind – Fred A. Johnson has been appointed varsity coach of basketball, baseball and tract at Waynetown HS. Johnson, a graduate of Linden HS and 1965 graduate of DePauw University succeeds Tom Bowerman who is retiring after 33 years in the coaching profession. Johnson has been assistant coach under Bowerman the past year. Bowerman spent all but 5 of his 33 years in coach at Alamo. He has been at Waynetown the last five years.
