Charles Bannon was b. Dec 17, 1863 at Russell Mills Parke Co, IN.
He was the son of James Clark Bannon and Eliz. FULWIDER. Charles marr. Mary
Melinda (Mollie) Lane daughter of Abrham & Prudence Moore Lane. Mary Melinda was b.
near WAingate Sept 1, 1870. They were the parents of 5 children: Ernest,
Eldo, Lenna, Iva and Evan twins, one ch. d. in infancy. Charles d. April
12, 1935 and Mollie Nov 21, 1924. charles farmed in the Elmdale, youngs
Chapel & Waveland areas. James' father was Michael. he was a Blacksmith &
a gunsmith who made guns for the Indians and white people. It was said he
was the first Blacksmith in Cincin. and served in the war of 1812. One of
Michae's sons was Lewis b. 1818 in Warren Co, Ohio, near Cincinn who was
said to have been a New Light Minister & Circuit Rider and was one of the
founders of Center & Libert Ch, both near Elmdale. Gen. authorities say the
Bannon's were chiefs of Ui Dechi situtated in the North of Tipperary,
irealnd. Jaems Clark Bannon was b. Dec 6, 1830 near Greenville, Oh./ He
came to Randolph Co IN Most of his life was spent in Parke & Montgomery Co.,
Indiana. All 5 children of Chalres & Mollie are now dec. There are several
grandchildren living in this area. Ernest & Delta Ballew Bannon had one son
Lyle who passed away in 1944. Eldo & Wanetah Monnroe Bannon had two
children; Virginia Bannon Kelsey & Max Bannon. Lenna marr. alva SMith and
they were the parents of Chalres, Russelll, Jack and Eileen. Iva marr.
Cecil Walker and their ch. were mary Katherine and VIola May. Evan marr.
Vera Crane and they were the parents of Richard Lee who was killed in a
train accident in 1947. Clela and Evelyn were his daus.
