Bailey - Jennie

Madam Jennie Bailey, proprietress of a noted house of
ill-fame on East Wabash Avenue, some time since arrested by Marshal Ensminger
on a charge of keeping a house of ill-fame, waived an examination in the city
police court and was bound over to the present term of circuit court. She applied for a change of venue on the
grounds of the existing prejudice in Montgomery County. Tuesday her case was
argued before Judge Britton who granted the change by sending the case to
Tippecanoe County. All the newspaper men
of the city were summoned as witnesses on the case of substantiate the charge
of said prejudice.
