New Richmond’s handsome tonsorial artist, James M. Alexander, is coming right to the front these days in doing his share towards developing the vast but hidden treasures of twentieth century science. James has lately had his shop piped and supplied with a system of water works, himself offering the ideas and personally superintending the work of the plumbing, supplying the shop with both hot and cold water. Too, ever since the first appearance of the new gasoline lights in town, Mr. Alexander being among the first to try the new adaptation he has been doing considerable thinking and experimenting and the result of which has installed an entirely new system of gasoline lights in his shop, far displacing the old gasoline lights. Pneumatic pressure is the principle, a single tank for gasoline and an attachment for air pressure from a hidden nook feeds the several lamps through a system of piping. It gives a brilliant light, and the arrangement is very simple. Druggist F. M. Johnson and Starr Dunn, the tinner, has shared with the barber in the knowledge of these new discoveries. A patent Has been applied for by Mr. Alexander.
