Frederick Armantrout "settled 5 miles south of thriving city of Crawfordsville" where he cleared the land which they entered  from the government and there became well established through their industry and both the paternal grandfather and father of our subject spent the rest of their lives in this County successfully engaged in general agricultural pursuits. Came from Germany making the voyage from his native land to America in 1760 where he settled in Rockingham Co, Va. - typed by kbz

Note:  Buried Lutheran Cemetery, Crawfordsville.  Born 1758 in either Germany (likely) or Rockingham Co VA and died in June 1855 in Montgomery County Indiana.  Revolutionary War Soldier.  He married Barbara Munger 3 Feb 1795. She was born in Virginia 20 Oct 1773 died 29 March 1847 in Montgomery County, Indiana.
