Wingate School Song

Wingate Spartans—Blue and Gold
School Song—The Wingate school song was an original with the words written by Lawrence Sheaffer and the music by Miss Katherine Barton.
“Thro all the country far and wide,
you will hear of WHS.
While other schools are striving hard,
She always leads the rest;
Then hail to WHS, may she always lead the rest,
and keep her honored name on high, the best in all the west.
And when our school days are ended, and our life's work begun,
May the pupils of the high school strive on as we have done.
Then hail to WHS, may she always lead the rest,
and keep her honored name on high, the best in all the west.
School nickname—The Spartans probably came from the fierce fighters of Sparta in ancient Greece.
School yearbook—The Theban—Again of Greek origin associated with the Oracle of Delphi.
School newspaper--
