In the Jungle of 1923, there was another school song.

“For we are jolly students of NR,

And we've got the colors Cardinal and Blue.

Defend those colors of NRHS,

Richmond, Richmond, Rah! Rah! Rah!

We are the students brave and true.”

School yearbook—The Clarion 1911, The Jungle 1923, and sometimes simply labeled New Richmond or NR on the cover. In 1910 Wingate and New Richmond published an annual joinstly called Kole Kreke Kamera

School nickname—Just a guess, but may have been because of the state bird.
