Transcriber Comments and Disclaimer The County Clerk's Office compiled indexes from the original marriage records. In the 1930's the Works Progress Administration (WPA) compiled indexes for marriages dated 1882 to 1920, so most marriages from 1882 to 1920 will have two entries, each with their own book and page number. This is a transcription of these indexes through the middle of 1920. Some very early marriage records may be missing due to not being indexed. Please note: This transcription goes beyond the scope of a traditional transcription in that I have corrected errors where they could be identified and proven, and I have added additional information about the people in the transcription where possible. In spite of my attempts to find and correct errors in the original records, many have undoubtedly found their way into this document. Moreover, I've probably made some transcription errors. Please be aware that this this transcription has not been proofread and comes with no guarantee of completeness or accuracy. The original file has been updated to include the following: 1. Spelling corrections.
2. Addition of marriage year to records without a
marriage date.
3. Identification of multiple marriages and listing
of bride's true maiden name, if known (this data is in the remarks
column).
4. Numerous other remarks that might be useful to
researchers. Robert E. Lane August 2013 Some files are very large and may require a few moments to download.....Martin County INGenWeb |
