Service: Enlisted Sussex Co., Court House, New Jersey, April 20, 1777.  Private in Capt Abraham LYON's Company, 4th N Jersey Regiment.  Transferred to the 2nd Regiment 1779.  Discharged at New Windsor, New York, 1783.

Married: Leannah Holstead. Leannah is buried in Bethel Cemetery, Orange County, IN under the name Leannah Hollenshead, consort of Garret Voorhies. She died February 11, 1837, in her 79th year. I don't have a marriage date for Garret Voorhees and Leannah Holstead at this time. 
Children:   Garret Voorhees Jr. (as shown in the abstract of his will, filed in Martin County): married Feriby (Pheby) Inman on November 10, 1831 in Orange County.
