Last Will and Testament of Edward Farrell Deceased
I Edward Farrell at this time a resident of Martin County, Indiana and being of sound and disposing mind and of memory, do make publish and declare this to be my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. Item I. I give and bequeath to my daughter Sallie Brown a black three year old heifer and the old white sow and her five (5) pigs. Item II. I give and bequeath to John T Hughes the little red heifer called Star and commonly known as the Jim Arvin Heifer. Also the six ($6.00) dollars that he owed me. Item III. I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Ash that in consideration of the various articles given and bequeathed to my sons, Thomas and Michael, they are to give her their note secured by Mortgage on real estate owned by them for the sum of One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars due in one year from date of my death and to be equally paid by each. Item IV. I give and bequeath to my daughter Catharine Irene Farrell that in consideration of the various articles given and bequeathed to my sons, Thomas and Michael, they are to give her their note secured by Mortgage on real estate owned by them for the sum of Fifty ($50.00) Dollars due in one year from the date of my death and to be paid equally by each. Item V. I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Farrell the yearling bay colt. Item VI. I give and bequeath to my daughter Bridget Farrell All of my chickens, the red heifer called Dick that is about two (2) years old, the black sow all of her four pigs, the yearling red heifer, an undivided on half interest in all my hay and corn, an undivided on half interest in my three (3) fattening hogs, an undivided on half interest in all of my household effects. And in consideration of the various articles given and bequeathed to my sons Thomas and Michael they are to give her their note secured by Mortgage on real estate owned by them, for the sum of Fifty ($50.00) Dollars due in one year from the time of my death and to be paid equally by each. Also, a one half of all the money on hand, five of my sheep and their lambs. In consideration of the various articles given and bequeathed to in this will she is to pay one half of all the funeral expenses on half of the Doctors expenses and one half of my account with Daniel F Madden. Item VII. I give and bequeath to my daughter Appalona Arvin my black horse named Frank that is about seven (7) years old. Item VIII. I give and bequeath to my son Michael Farrell. My two black mares one of which is called Nellie about ten (10 ) years old and one called Bonnie about twelve (12) years old and known as the Mullen Mare and the two (2) years old black horse colt . Also the wagon, mowing machine. One third interest in the hay rake owned by myself, Thomas Ward and Lawrence Buckley, and all of my other farming implements and machinery, the light red yearling steer an undivided on half interest in all of the hay and corn, the white sow and her nine (9) pigs, and undivided one half interest in the three fattening Hogs and one half of all the money on hand. An undivided on half interest in all of my household affects. Also, six of my sheep and their lambs. In consideration of the various articles given and bequeathed to him in this will, he is to pay one half of the funeral expenses, one half of the Doctors expenses and one half of my account with Daniel F Madden. Item IX. I give and bequeath to my grand son, Raymond J? Arvin the calf about six months old known the “Craney Calf.” Item X. In consideration of the three notes that my sons Thomas and Michael are to give secured by Mortgage on real estate first as provided for in Item III to Margaret Ash for One hundred ($100.00) Dollars. Secured and provided for in Item IV. to Catharine Irene Farrell for Fifty ($50.00) Dollars and third as provided for in Item VI to Bridget Farrell for Fifty ($50.00) I hereby release the Mortgage executed by Catharine Farrell on the 23 day of October 1900 to me and recorded in Record O page 379 on the 22 day of March 1901 as being fully satisfied. Item XI. I ? and appoint Lawrence Buckley as executor of this will.

State of Indiana County of Martin I James L McGovern A Notary Public in and for said county certify that I have written this will and testament as was dictated to my by said Edward Farrell and that he Lawrence Buckley and Charles J. Craney all personally appeared before me. Together and acknowledged the signatures whereto attached. This will was signed and sealed in the presence of Lawrence Buckley and Charles J. Craney two disinterested witnesses. On this the 10 day of February 1903 at Whitfield Indiana. In Witness Whereof is hereinto attached my hand and Notarie? seal. My Commission? ? Notary Public The State of Indiana Martin County Be it Remembered That on the 23 day of February 1903 one of the subscribing witnesses to the wishes and foregoing last Will and Testament of Edward Farrell late of said County deceased personally appeared before Geo W. Gates Clerk of the Circuit Court of Martin County in the State of Indiana and being duly sworn by the Clerk of said Court upon his oath declared and testified as follows. That is to say that on the 10 day of Feby 1903 he saw the said Edward Farrell sign his name by mark to said instrument in writing as and for his last Will and Testament and that this deponent at the same twice heard the said Edward Farrell declare the said instrument in writing to be his last Will and Testament and that the said instrument writing was at the same time. At the request of the said Edward Farrell and with his consent attested and subscribed by the said Lawrence Buckley and Charles J. Craney in the presence of said testator and in the presence of each other as subscribing witnesses thereto and that the said Edward Farrell was at the time of the signing and subscribing of said witnesses in writing. As aforesaid, of full age (that is more than twenty one years of age) and of sound and disposing mind and memory and not under any coercion or restraint. As the said deponent verily believes and further deponent says now?. Lawrence Buckley Sworn to and subscribed by the said Lawrence Buckley before me Geo W Gates Clerk of said Court at West Shoals. Will and Testament of Edward Farrell has been duly admitted to probate and dully proved by the testimony of Lawrence Buckley one of the subscribing witnesses thereto that a complete record of said Will and the testimony of the said Lawrence Buckley in proof thereof has been by me duly made and recorded in Book “C” at pages 125 to 129 of the Record of Wills of said County.
