Simmons, Stephen Bauer
My grandfather on my mothers' side is listed above. He was born on a
farm
near Natchez on June 1, 1857, and was educated in the Martin Cty country
schools. After completing school he farmed for a while until economics
made him
decide to try a different career. He went to work for the Pennsylvania
R.R in
Dennison, OH on Jan.4, 1881, and became the Master Mechanic there until
he retired after 40 yrs of service.
He married my grandmother, Maria DeMuth, at 2 P.M. on Nov. 2, 1879 in
Pleasant Valley, IN.
On Sunday, Sept. 3, 1933, they attended one of many annual re-unions
of
the Simmons-Chestnut families "on the grounds" at Natchez. About 125
relatives and 40 "old time friends" attended, according to his diary
I have. He
mentions Charles, Cousin Emma Truax, Charles Dowell, whose mother
was
Cousin Mattie. Charles may have been the Charles Chestnut at whose
home at 316
So. Park St. in Seymour was where they spent the previous night. He
mentions
Woods Restaurant frequently in Shoals as a place they atteneded often.
Would appreciate help on locating living relatives, plus info on any
of
his brothers, sisters, and his parents that is available. I know nothing
about them.

Wallace - Tom and Becky
I am looking for any record of Tom and Becky Wallace - I know they were
in Martin County by 1866 as their daughter Rebecca died in childbirth
and
they raised her children with the help of Aunt Lizzie (Elizabeth Wallace?)
Sharum.
Rebecca Wallace married Henry Pippitt and had Angeline, Frank, Everett

Tom and Becky must have died in Martin County as did Rebecca. Anyone

where they might be buried?

Wallace-Sharum
I'm attempting to locate the parents of Elizabeth (Lizzie) Wallace
Sharum.
I believe her to be the aunt of my great grandfather who helped raise
him
after his mother (her sister) Rebecca Wallace Pippitt died in 1866.
Rebecca married Henry Pippitt in 1850 in Columbina County, Ohio.
Their
son (my great grandfather) was born in Martin County in 1860.
Can anyone help me with the names of the parents of Elizabeth and
Rebecca?
According to family folk lore they were named Tom and Becky Wallace
and
were supposedly from Ireland. The only other name
from family lore is "Aunt
Lizzie Sharum".

Wallace, Pippitt
I am looking for any proof that my great great grandparents were Thomas
(Tom) and Rebecca (Becky) Wallace. They were the parents of Rebecca
Wallace who married Henry Pippitt in Columbiana County Ohio in 1850.
Rebecca died
in 1866 in Martin County - Her parents had to be in Martin County then
or
shortly after as my great grandfather Everett Pippett (name changed
spelling) said he was raised by Tom and Becky Wallace his maternal
grandparents. I have no proof of their existance.
They probably died
in Martin County?
Everett left Martin County in 1910 or 1911. Anyone have any information
