Margaret Reel Adams. Joseph was born in 1858, Harrison Township, Knox

Looking for information on the ancestry of John H. Kerns b. 26 Sep 1842 d.14 Oct 1929 buried at Crystal Cemetery Dubois Co. IN. John moved to Martin Co. with his mother, siblings and grandmother between 1856 and 1860. His mother was Elizabeth Donaldson and grandmother was Mary Donaldson. He had several brothers and sisters. The name could have been Kern or Kearns as well.
John Kerns married Melvina Smith on 12 Oct 1871. Melvina was born 15 Sep 1843

I am searching for information on William Kinder and his wife Emma Jane
Cox. William was born in 1851, the son of Jacob Kinder and Marthena McDermed.
Jacob Kinder is believed to be the son of John Kinder and ?, while Marthena
McDermed is the daughter of Charles McDermed and Elizabeth Smith. Emma was born June 6, 1850, of unknown parents. By 1860, both of his parents had died, and he was living with his Grandmother, Elizabeth McDermed. William married Emma Cox in 1873 in Martin Co., and their first daughter, Deffie, was born in 1874 in
Martin Co. By the 1880 census, and thereafter, they are found living in Lawrence
Co. William died in 1905, while Emma died in 1918.

I have been told they are buried in Williams, Ind. I checked the Mt
Olive Cementery and found only one daughter - Mary Ann Saladee who was
married to Henry Wilking. I checked the Church of Christ cementery and
did not find any Saladee. I do not know where or if there are other
cementeries in Williams or nearby.

Searching for any info on Sarah Catherine LAUMBARGER, born about 1845. She married Benjamin PATON in Martin Co, IN on Dec 25, 1866. Story handed down is that she was an orphan. Her last name has been spelled: LAUMBARGER, LINEBARGER, LINEBAKER, LINEBACK. When she married Benjamin, his last name was spelled PATON, but has been known to be spelled: PAYTON, PEYTON, AND PATON. He is living next door to my gggrandfather James C. MELVIN. I would like to find out if William could possibly be James's father. I believe this William Melvin in 1850 in Lawrence county moved to Martin county when his daughter Catherine married a Bridges. I maybe wrong, but this is what I think. The William Melvin in 1850 was 51 years and from NC married to a Sarah 45 years from NC. My James C.
Melvin was 32 yrs and from NC and his wife was Phoebe, 25 yrs from IN. Does anybody know anything about these families?? Thank you.

I am looking for information on Robert MORRISON (b. Mar 1839, IN or KY). He married 3 times. I am most curious about his second wife, Mary or Margy, whom I know nothing about. I am researching James Morrison bn 1797 in East TN. Believe his brother is John Morrison born 1806 in TN. They both show up on the tax rolls in 1823, Green Co KY close to each other. (Same page). They both marry to sisters. Nancy Bell and Mary Bell. They are in the 1830 Census for Green Co. 1840 James Morrison goes to Martin Co. Indiana and shows up on the census. While there he has 3 more children to his 5 that he has. He then goes back to Green Co. KY, now Taylor Co KY, has one more child and in the 1850 census shows up again. On the same 1840
census is Charles Morrison. I am looking for their relationship or any Morrison info. Charles Morrison and James Morrison are on the same census page.

MURRAY
I'm researching my uncle and his family and all I have to go is a
newspaper clip of his obituary. It's from an unknown Hopkins County, KY
newspaper and reads as below. I've also posted it on the Hopkins County
GenWeb obit page. His birth and dates are Abt. 1920-1969. The search
has been compounded because he may have legally changed his surname to
Murray from Murrah. Everyone else in the family used the Murrah name
and so the obit below is partly in error in that regard. It reads:
Former Hopkins Resident, Harold Murray, 49, Dies
Harold Murray, 49, of Shoals, Ind, a former resident of the Nortonville
community, died in a hospital in Bedford, Ind.,at 7:30 a.m. Friday,
after an illness of several months. He had undergone surgery.
Murray was the son of Mrs. Nellie Daniel, of Dawson Springs, and the
late Dalton Murray.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Mrs. Betty Murray,
and three daughters, Mrs. Terry Sands and Misses Sharry and Deborah
Murray, all of Shoals, Ind.; three sisters, Mrs. Lorene Drummond,
Taylor, Mich., Mrs. Charolette Drummond, South Gate, Mich. and Mrs. Joy
Hayes, Toledo, Ohio; Two brothers, Lonnie Murray, Detroit, and Woodson
Murray, Leesville, La.; two aunts, Mrs. Del Dillingham, Nortonville

Martin Greenberry Raney m. Katherine Lemar in Martin Co in 1835. He was
the son of Joseph Raney and Ruth Silvers. Joseph had brought his family
to IN from Washington Co. KY, purchasing land in Martin Co in 1817.
Ruth died abt 1820, and Joseph later m. Cecilia Cissell. Have children
of both his marriages and will share. Martin G. Raney left IN at some
point after his marriage, eventually turning up on the 1850 Census for
Washington Co *Texas*, alone. By 1860, Martin Raney is remarried to
Mrs. Frances Murry, living in Milam Co TX. The oldest child by his
previous marriage, in the household, is a daughter b abt 1845. There
are also two sons in his household by a previous marriage. Looking for
information about Katherine Lemar. Did she die before the family turns
up in Texas, and, if so, was there another marriage? Were there
children older than the daughter in the 1860 census, and are these the
children of Katherine Lemar? On at least one census, this daughter
reported Illinois as her birthplace. Does anyone have knowledge of
Raney's in Illinois? So many questions! Thanks in advance for any

James Stephen WOOD married Phoebe (ARMSTRONG) HYMAN on 01 Aug 1831 in Mason Co., KY. They moved near Loogootee, Martin Co., IN where they raised a large family. James was the father of 8 children with his first wife
