This index of Justice of the Peace ledgers was created from an incomplete collection of Township Justice of the Peace record books. It is alphabetized by defendant. Most of the early cases involve suits to collect personal loans or property disputes. After 1920, most entries are traffic related, reflecting the evolving job of the Justice of the Peace and the evolution of transportation. The handwriting and spelling were transcribed as best as possible. We intentionally omitted the cause.
