Zimri Owens, a well known citizen of Bedford, attempted suicide Saturday night by shooting himself in the breast with a .38 caliber revolver.

Bedford is afflicted with an epidemic of would-be suicides. Yesterday Mrs. John Walron and Miss Jessie Hungate both sought the golden shore by carbolic acid's scenic route. Doctors threw the switch and busted up the trip.
