COL. VORIS, EDUCATOR AND BANKER, DIES AT BEDFORD
Col. A. C. Voris, 82 years old, one of Bedford's oldest and most influential men, died Saturday afternoon. Col. Voris was a pioneer in the stone business of Bedford 50 years ago and was also for many years connected with the educational interests of southern Indiana. He was a Lincoln presidential elector and a veteran of the Civil War. He was the first and only president of the Citizens Trust Company.
He was identified with all progressive movements connected with the prosperity of Bedford. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, given to much quiet charity and beloved by all Bedford's citizens. His widow, J. R. Voris, a son, and Mrs. Kate Lamb of Indianapolis, an only sister, are the near relations who survive him. The funeral will take place on Monday afternoon.
