Mrs. Tate Newland, who resides about five miles from Bedford, met with a most distressing misfortune last Sunday. While walking about in the front yard at her home she, in some way, broke her leg. Mrs. Newland has been blind for two or three years, and it seems hard that this misfortune should thus befall her. She is, we understand, getting along well under the care of Dr. Wes Newland.

DIED–On Tuesday morning at three o'clock, Jesse W., infant son of Dr. J. D. and Mattie M. Simpson of Harrodsburg at the residence of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse A. Mitchell, aged 5 months and 12 days.
The child had been a great sufferer during the short period of his life, and when death came to his relief, it seemed that the mercy of the Lord was truly shown. Every attention that a loving father and devoted mother could bestow was shown to the little sufferer.
