Bedford Democrat: "Frank Turner and wife are here from Bloomington to see Mrs. Turner's mother, Mrs. Nancy Reed, who yesterday had a toe amputated as the result of blood poisoning. Mr. Turner is on crutches as the result of a fall from a traveler at the Consolidated Quarry near Bloomington a short time ago having slipped and fell while making some repairs on the machine. He will be unable to work as a result of the accident for several weeks."
