Chas. GILBERT, of Mitchell, the young man that cut Thos. CARR, was lodged in jail on Wednesday.

A man by the name of OWENS had his arm cut off SCOGGAN'S mill Wednesday.

L. B. NUNNALLY has fixed up his cellar door by putting in new stone steps. FILLION and SMITH did the work.

Our friend Alex GAINEY was expected in town Tuesday, but did not come. Mr. G. is a good old gentleman and has many friends in Bedford.
