THE LAWRENCE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL.

The next Session of the Lawrence County High School will commence on Monday, Jan. 4, 1858, and will continue for thirteen weeks.

Tuition, in primary department, including Reading, Primary Geography and Mental Arithmetic, $4.00. Middle Department, Higher Geography, Arithmetic, English Grammar, first lessons in Algebra, Natural Philosophy, and Practical Book Keeping, $5.00; and for the higher branches, $6.00 per session of thirteen weeks.

Students will be charged from the time of entering to the close of the session. Except for special reasons, which should be stated at the time of entering, tuition fees must be paid in advance.

The Principal will be assisted by Mrs. CONNELLY. And other assistance will be procured if the patronage of the school requires it.

THORNTON & PEARSON, their attorneys, and file their complaint against the defendants: and it appearing from an affidavit on file, that the plaintiffs have a cause of action against the defendants, and that the said Daniel J. HOSTETLER is not a resident of the State of Indiana, he is thereupon notified of the pendency of this action, and that the same will stand for trial at the next term of the said Lawrence Circuit Court, to be held at the court house of said county, at Bedford on the 3d Monday in March, A. D. 1858, at which time and place he is requested to appear and answer said complaint, and on his failure to do so, the matter thereof will be taken as true and judgment given accordingly.

Comes the plaintiff by THORNTON & PEARSON, her attorneys , and files her complaint against the defendants herein, accompanied by an affidavit, alleging that they are all, with the exception of the said Oberia M. HADLEY, non-residents of this State, and that the plaintiff has a cause of action therein against them in relation to real estate as necessary parties thereto: Said defendants are therefor hereby notificed of the pendency of said action, and that the same will stand for trial at the next term of said Lawrence Circuit Court, to be held on the 2d Monday of March, 1858, at the court house in Bedford, in said county, at which time and place they are required to appear and answer the pltfs. complaint, and on failure so to do, the matters therein will be taken as admitted and judgment entered up accordingly.

NOTICE.

Is hereby given that a writ of Domestic Attachment was issued by me, Thomas P. SHIPMAN, one of the Justices of the Peace in and for Spice Valley township, in the county of Lawrence, on the 23d day of October, 1857, upon the affadavit of John W. MAY, of Lawrence county, and State of Indiana, against the goods and chattles, rights, credits, moneys and effects of William MAY, late of said county and State. By virtue of such writ the following described property was attached as the property of the said William May, to-wit: Bank notes at par, twelve dollars; and that on the 3d day of January, 1858, at 2 o'clock, P.M., at my office in said township, I will proceed to hear and decide upon such attachment and the claims of the said creditors.

The undersigned has been appointed administrator of the estate of William SEARS, dec'd. Said estate is supposed to be solvent.

A PUBLIC SALE.

Of the personal property of the deceased will be made at his late residence on the 24th day of December next, consisting of horses, cattle, stock and fatted hogs, together with farming implements, & c.

TERMS.--A credit of twelve months will be given on all purchases over $3, the purchasers giving note with approved security, waiving recourse to valuation laws.

I have this day associated with myself in the Dry Goods business J. D. THOMASSON and J. W. PALMER, for the purpose of doing a general Dry Goods and Produce business. In making this change it will enable us to keep a general assortment. The undersigned offers for sale his farm, situated directly in the bend of White river, south side, opposite Palestine, in Lawrence county; two miles from the New Albany and Salem Railroad, and three miles from the Ohio and Mississippi Railroad. The farm contains 411 acres, 300 acres cleared, 230 of which are fresh land. There are five cabins on the farm, besides corn cribs, stables, &c., &c., and eight acres of superior fruit trees, and three excellent springs.
